It's that time again.... we've moved! Our latest PCS has us experiencing a true New England autumn in northern New York. To say that I am excited would be an understatement. As much as I wanted to like Tennessee, I just don't think that this is where I'm going to find home. I am choosing to look at these different duty stations not only as new adventures but as a way to see different parts of the country and hopefully find the place that my husband and I can call our forever home once we no longer have the military telling us where we have to live.

Everyone has warned me about the snow but we bought a snow blower the week after we got here so the only worry I have now is driving in it. Luckily I work from home so I don't need to be on the roads much anyway. We have really been enjoying the weather and the neighborhood has felt more like home than the neighborhood in Tennessee ever did. The grocery store is just a few minutes away and the Target and Lowes are both exceptionally nice.

Maple is still getting used to her surroundings. We live in a duplex now so there are more sounds to get used to as there are always people moving about. Our neighbors all have dogs, so she's been making a plethora of new fence friends.

I've been keeping busy as well, working and unpacking. Trading the old office blinds that came in our new rental for some nicer curtains, and trying not to set off the overly sensitive fire alarm when I make eggs for breakfast.

We haven't done much exploring yet, although we hope to. I have a feeling the winter will set in and keep us home quite a bit, but there are some ski hills nearby. I have also heard there's a wonderful greenhouse up the highway a few miles, as well as a pretty year round Christmas store in the town over.

I'm thinking that the area will provide me plenty of inspiration for new paintings and artwork as soon as I can get settled enough to find my paintbrushes. I'm also leaning into the world of digital art, as I have recently purchased one of the XP-Pen drawing pads to design some stickers and other small items to print then cut with my Cricut machine. But, more on that later as I have yet to receive my new desk (the movers broke my other one) and desk chair in the mail. So, I'm currently working from our dining room table which doesn't lend itself to the creative ear very well.

Thanks for tuning in, I hope to be back with more to tell you all again soon! Until then, Have a Happy Halloween! Xoxo
